What is Airsoft???

Airsoft is the overall name that describes the use of Airsoft Guns.

Airsoft guns are 1:1 replicas of real guns made from plastic and metal that do not fire real bullets or ever can. They are effectively toys and are classifiied as such. They are treated as firearms for security purposes.

The great thing about Airsoft guns are that you can use them in Skirmishing, If you'ved ever played paintball or any number of "LASER games" you should know what i am talking about. Basically Two teams shoot each other with airsoft guns!

Airsoft guns fire 6mm BB's at low speeds.This means they do not hurt when they hit you! Although Saftey goggles and other protective clothing should be worn at all times.

Airsoft is similar to paintball, except in a few areas. It is more realistic.The ammunition is MUCH MUCH cheaper! It's SO much MORE fun!
Airsoft equipment is totally legal but operates under the same legal constraints that paintball operates under

Airsoft equipment should never be used for unlawful activity

It is an offence to display airsoft equipment in public

Airsoft equipment should only be used in certain environments, Contact your local police station to find out what these are.

Airsoft equipment should never be pointed at any living object EXCEPT during a properly organised official skirmish
 

All automatic airsoft guns must not fire 0.20 BB's at more then 328 fps under normal operating conditions. Otherwise it is classified as a SECTION 5 weapon, i.e. must be licenced
 
 

Here at Southampton University Airsoft we are trying to promote this growing sport and to encourage safe and proper use of Airsoft equipment.

Faliure to comply with the above regulations is dangerous and could result in conviction and imprisonment and/or severe injury or death due to the positive action of armed or un-armed police or military.
 

Safe handling of Airsoft weapons will be taught to all members. Non compliance will result in termination of membership and the relevent authorities being informed.

The ownership of any firearm or airsoft equipment carries the responsibilities that cannot be ignored
